Gone was the ability to create SWFs, added was the requirement to register to use it, and over time, links to the various webpages that had CamStudio and its source code, became broken. Happened after I installed an additional set of codecs. There are no royalties or any monies to pay - although if you do use it for a commercial product, I wouldn't say no to a copy of whatever you produce.

Hello everybody I've just downloaded Camstudio and it's not recording. The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings.
I am not using autopanning much personally other than while zooming, however it behaves differently in this case.
That should sort the problem out.

Also, for me, the colors are distorted too. I've just download it again fron an other mirror service and nothing. The latest stable, non-portable, version of CamStudio had the screen annotations removed, but I re-added them in the latest portable version.

I push the record button and it seems to start, but the time and megas counter are not running. However, I managed to find an earlier version complete with the related CamStudio video codec and the source code for both then put the website up so people could download them.
Otherwise every frame will be stored as a key frame and the resulting file size will be very big.
